Sonic Origins had Denuvo? Brother, they are fucking Genesis games. Anyone can play them on some Genesis emulator right now, or get the Christian Whitehead’s remasters in case of 1, 2 and CD. What the were they thinking?

The concept of intellectual property is inherently corrupt. It’s a law that seeks to supress the competetion it pretends advocate for.

Are Egyptian authorities doing something about the poverty their people face as well?

I used to have an account there and this wasn’t my experience, and I used to be a capitalist back then. I mainly quit because there was nothing to do there, this was before lemmy gained an actual userbase following the reddit api situation when the most popular post on the whole network had one hundred upvotes and eight comments or something.
You’ll be fine if you don’t involve yourself with the political communities, I don’t see why you would considering there still doesn’t seem to be much activity there.

What’s wrong with .ml?

You see they are a multibillion dollar corporation, so them doing it is good actually, it encourages iNnOvAtIoN.

Also they repack everything. I only learned about and played a game called The Weird Dream because there is a fitgirl repack of it. When I looked it up on Steam it had fifty or so reviews.

Windows and Linux are both free and MacOS coames pre-installed in custom made hardware, so I don’t know who would pirate an OS anymore. I’m with you on security software though.

I mainly use LimeTorrent and 1337x, I get 99% percent of my stuff from those two sites. Another one worth mentioning is DigitalCore Club. It’s a private tracker, but it has open signups quite frequently. It doesn’t actually have a ton of content on it, however it has a pretty good requests section. So if you can’t find something anywhere you can try to ask for it there.

If you get what you want without getting viruses into your computer, no.

Ninth circle of hell. It’s a streaming platform that’s infamous for basically never banning anyone, so it attracted all sorts of sketchy or downright evil folk.

…is this process not against the spirit of piracy
It could be against the anti-establishment values of some digital pirates, but it’s not at odds with the nature of piracy itself.
Piracy on the internet is just distributing digital goods protected by intellectual property law without the permission of the copyright holder. Some pirates engage in this practice for political reasons, but for many others it’s simply a matter of economics or availability.

Thankfully the stuff I’m interested in is very easy for the most part. It’s rare for me to struggle with finding something.

I do this with Blazing Chrome, it works in my case.

There are alternatives to YouTube though, there are a lot of them. It’s just none of them are viable for the viewers because content creators are hell bent on never using anything other than YouTube. To the point I believe they aren’t actually bothered by YouTube’s problems and only occasionaly complain about it for easy views.
Personally I don’t care anymore, YouTube’s problems don’t affect me. As long as PipePipe works I’m happy. And if it stops working I’ll just stop watching YouTube, or just minimize my usage to the extent it’s possible.
Lemmy already came such a long way though, when I first tried using it, it was a barren wasteland. Federated social media is the only kind of online platform that can brute force it’s way into viability so I’m confident Lemmy will continue to grow or remain big enough to satisfy it’s users. It just won’t be as big as Reddit.

I really hope Reddit keeps on its road to enshittification so more people realizes what kind of shit hole it is and more open to try the fediverse they would be
I don’t see this ever happening to be honest. Considering how much shitter YouTube has been for so much longer I don’t believe most people online will ever leave the mainstream platforms.
I believe fediverse will be like Linux. It’ll always have a dedicated userbase large enough to sustain itself, but it won’t be big like the proprietary platforms. And that’s ok.

I don’t think compiling from source is easy even on Linux. Whenever I try it whatever program I’m trying to compile just refuses to compile, even though I seem to have all of the necessary programs for it. I can’t recall successfully compiling anything other than suckless tools, which have basically no dependencies.

Isn’t AnimeBytes one of the hardest private trackers to get into?

I never felt the need to use a GUI for it, it’s very easy to use.
Capitalist scum.
