I’ve tried a lot of these veggie burgers and tbh at least where I’m from most of the time they kinda suck. I’ve had a few really really good ones but mostly they tasted mid.

Memes@lemmy.ml•No PS3 backwards compatibilityEnglish
71·2 years agoWould that have even worked? I can’t imagine you’d be able to get anything better than PS2 graphics with just an extra CPU.

Memes@lemmy.ml•agile is far left too. I will die on this hillEnglish
51·2 years agoInteresting perspective, never really looked at it like that, I’ve always just interacted with the corporatized bullshit implementations of Agile.
It seems Agile really did have a kernel of worker self management in it but the original people behind it didn’t have the right ideological framework to realize that this is what they’re trying to achieve.

293·2 years agoAgile is the anarchism of software development: sounds nice on a high level but basically no theoretical foundation behind it and thus in practice everybody makes it whatever the fuck they want it to be.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Oh tell me again how it loads faster and takes up less resourcesEnglish
2·2 years agoStrange, usually things just work there considering the limited hardware variety. Is it an older Mac? I’m typing this on an M2 macbook and it works perfectly.
Anyway try to dig into the config and check if you’re using hardware rendering: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Firefox_Hardware_acceleration
If it turns out you’re using software rendering try forcing hardware rendering on: https://jamcity.helpshift.com/hc/en/6-genies-and-gems/faq/5737-how-do-i-enable-hardware-acceleration-on-my-browser/

2·2 years agoSounds to me like some hardware issue, I’ve literally never experienced any of this in the last 5 years on Firefox. My guess is considering it works fine with other browsers the graphics drivers are a bit wonky, or maybe Firefox is falling back to software rendering for some reason. Are you using Linux or Windows?

31·2 years agoWym? Youtube works just fine for me with uBlock Origin. Very rarely there’s some wonkiness but nothing unbearable.
No ads, except the direct sponsors of the people I actually watch.
Nah fuck that, those are the most annoying of all the ads. Very very very rarely does a content creator actually incorporate those in the video well, it’s just jarring and annoying and I won’t pay money to suffer those shitty ads.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•I’m sorry, but I cannot help you with finding pirated movies. Piracy is illegal and unethical 😉English
2·3 years agoOh that’s already a thing. Remember that AI girlfriend app Replika?
I had lower back pain but regular exercise pretty much completely fixed that.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to use a power wash inside, I think this is going to be a manual clean.
Le funny prank XD
Don’t worry tho, neither the guy who did this nor the parents are going to clean that, it’s actually going to be a poor person for like $10 an hour.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Being “gifted”, only makes you wish you weren’t sometimesEnglish
5·3 years agoSkipping classes as a “gifted” kid always seemed like a very weird concept to me, you’re making the child lose a lot of interaction with their peers for dubious reasons. It seems to me like it should only be reserved for the most bulging hyperwrinkled brains, like those kids that finish college by the time they’re 16 or whatever that would obviously be extremely understimulated when going the normal pace. Even then you could argue the gigabrain kid would probably benefit greatly from socializing with their peers, I mean where’s the rush really? They’re young, they can always learn more later.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Lemmy might, MIGHT have a small bias towards the leftEnglish
291·3 years agoWhy not?
Sorry I just don’t buy into the ideology that the free market has this kind of “magic sauce” that makes everything innovative and better.
The early Internet was filled of people doing all kinds of cool things for free just because it was interesting to do, the only thing the private sector did is provide the base infrastructure, this is something the state can easily do too. All kinds of communities, FOSS software and media popped up and none of them had VC funding or expected any money out of it.
It was only in mid-late 2000 that capital really sank its teeth into the Internet properly.

272·3 years agoHow would you have communicated without someone owning a server and paying for it?
You do realize the Internet first started being used by universities and the military, not the private sector, right? I see literally no reason why Internet infrastructure couldn’t be publicly owned. It could function pretty much like any other public utility.

494·3 years agoYeah but capitalism also made reddit great
Engineers and designers made it great. Reddit could very well exist without capitalism (see Lemmy). What fucked up Reddit was explicitly capitalist incentives.
Don’t forget it’s also a bit like Hogwarts students fighting the deatheaters.
