Scrolling through this meme was weirdly timed, because the shampoo bottle I left too near to the edge just fell off in my bathroom.
There are some benefits in some circumstances, but a lot of people who use linux do so not because of any tangible benefit, but because they support open source, and don’t like the idea of one (arguably a couple) big corporation having a monopoly of that magnitude and deciding alone the way tech should evolve.
Speaking for myself, I’m from a developing country, and I mostly use dated tech, some of which don’t even support windows anymore, and it gives me the possibility of extending the lifespan of my stuff. This is the main tangible benefit for me.
Bring on the political science and jazz posts! Would love to see them around.
That’s a great idea! I will try it tomorrow, thank you.
Edit: Worked nicely :)
If the router provided by my isp won’t allow me to change the dns server, is there a workaround for having to set the local dns server on each device that doesn’t involve getting a new router?

It’s not so simple. I’ve been trying to go the foss self-hosted way, as well as help p2p projects, and I got stuck because I’m behind a cgnat, unable to forward ports, and my shitty isp has no ipv6. I can’t afford vpns at the moment, so I got stuck. Besides, all that needed a lot of tech skills most people won’t have. This is a serious barrier of entry for a lot of people.

I still have a tablet that came with windows 8. That thing was terrible from day 0 and got unusable after a few updates. Fortunately, it’s running android x86 for a few years like a charm.
Where can we find more of this drug?
Taking shitposting to a whole new level.
Exactly. There’s nothing out of the ordinary in that chart, just a quick growth, that led to an overshoot, and now it’s stabilizing In the next months, we will probably see a more stable pattern of linear-looking growth, with occasional peaks here and there.
I didn’t seem to me that the rat carried it all the way with the intention to share with the other one. It even pulls it away from the other at some point. The video gives me the impression that it was going to take his finding and the other rat appeared randomly.
I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that phone OSes and apps are designed to steal our attention at all the times. I find it hard to do stuff while receiving notifications here and there, or even knowing that a new notification may pop up at any time. If fells like trying to do something while someone is watching and poking me all the time.

I thought about it a couple of years ago, and even started gathering information and talking to people from the field, as well as consulting lawyers. I ended giving up on the idea because of too much complications.
Underrated comment.
It would be awesome if there was a community focused on that
