I actually think regulation is how we got them, but not in a known bad way. Originally car headlights had little to no standards, but eventually people realized they’re important to safety and so testing started happening to ensure that headlights met a minimum safety rating. The problem is that the testing was done from the drivers seat, and based on light projection in front of the vehicle rather than taking into account other humans looking toward it. I’ve been a big proponent of LED lights that dim when stopped or slowing, and even halogen/ultra dim lights for city driving, and keeping LEDs for brights. LEDs have really made a lot of brights basically useless, but the brightness, and harshness of color temperature is absolutely detrimental to other drivers.

It’s not even racist rednecks in most of those in-between areas. It’s a lot of Hispanics, and let me tell you… there’s a whoooolllleeeeee lot of racist Hispanics in this state and a lot that are happy they got in and fine with no one else coming in behind them.

Yup, it’s part of why the idea of rescuing them was never going to happen either. There’s only something like 3 subs in the world that can dive to that depth and they weren’t close enough nor built for rescue missions. Even if they were alive they only had 3 days worth of oxygen. Honestly they’re lucky that the “sub” just imploded rather than dealing with the slow loss of oxygen.

• The US military heard it and didn’t necessarily want to give away capability of listening devices around the sea floor.

• The sub was difficult to get to the debris field because it was at an incredibly deep section that few craft are capable of reaching safely.

It was frustrating they made a big deal about something we ultimately could have done nothing about in the first place. However it’s not like the whole “hearing the implosion” thing was something the military wanted to give away and at that depth we have to be careful. Don’t forget we’ve put more people into space than have been to the deepest point on the planet.
