help-circle

  • I don’t know what in the hell I did, I have one of the solid circular round ones with a small hole in the back for the keychain. It’s been on my keys for ages. One morning I went to put my seat belt on and got a sharp stab. I pulled my keys out and it was bent 90° and I just the tiniest little bit of blood on it.

  • No one is asking for a gaggle of full-time engineers.

The flowchart is designed to fix the vast majority of problems top down. If 90% of the problems are solved by rebooting you’re going to reboot. It doesn’t matter if the ONT shows your fiber line is not connected. Wow that sucks I understand and don’t have a problem with that. But most support these days can’t even connect you with an actual engineer once you break the flow chart.

You spend 30 minutes on the phone having them check off check boxes when they get down to the point where there’s actually a level two problem, there’s no one there to talk to you. Here let us take down your information and we’ll get back to you within the next 24 hours.

A couple of decades ago this really wasn’t a problem. Level 1 technicians would run their flowcharts if you broke out to a level two technician you wait on the line for 10 to 15 minutes and you’d end up with a level two technician, It almost always solve the problem if it was solvable. Honestly the products I call for support on haven’t really gone down in price with the lack of support provided these days. They used to be able to provide me multi-tier support live on the phone with just their existing margins. It’s the same thing screwing over pharmacies and retail. They found they can get by with giving less support and having less people work the lines so that’s what they’re doing.

My first inclination was blender is critical to see progress as you set the time, ovens can see how brown cookies are but the dishwasher is a fixed cycle and who care… but then I thought about my washer and dryer both having windows for no reason what so ever.

No no no, doesn’t stop there.

Then you created a business, run by your most…devout… followers, they’ll manage the business.

You pay them to collect money for you, and um, teach them the ways and make sure they bring their families and friends in.

You tell them they are all horrible people who will suffer in eternity unless they worship you and thank you that they were born.

Then your managers, they meet with all your followers and shake them down tell them how important it is to fund the business.

It’s a very complex thing really being the creator of the universe and having to have people start a business to fund…um…worshiping you…

  • It’s not a bad idea but federated is the term they’re using to tell everybody not to get off reddit because it’s too confusing.

I think whatever name you give it they’re going to try to sell it as being too confusing.

You could call it distributed web but they’ll taint that as soon as you stick it in front of them

A post mentioning IPFS that hasn’t been downvoted into the mantle? I’m impressed.

It seems that most people don’t have any idea that it’s not reliant upon blockchain.

Somebody asked the other day about hosting websites on cell phones. I mentioned that IPFS would be just about perfect for that and everyone got out their pitchforks.
