On the plus side, maybe the Chinese and Russians will learn their lesson and help elect a more sensible candidate this time around.
You say this as if either of those countries had free and fair elections. Putin has been jailing everybody who could stand a chance to run against him, and in China everything is under the CCP.
If you have a decent wage, job security, a roof over your head, and decent healthcare, you can largely insulate yourself from bigotry and predjudice.
How do those protect against harassment experienced in public spaces? E.g. getting harassed when trying to use public toilets or changing rooms because of your gender appearance?
Or systemic discrimination, like not having equal spousal rights for adoption/inheritance/medical decision-making? The state doesn’t have to actively persecute you to still treat you as a second-class citizen.
The Overtoon Window in England (not as much the other UK nations) is way to the Right of the rest of Europe
oh fuck, this gif just made me realise now, after decades of knowing this movie, that they mistranslated this line in the Hungarian dub as “spitters” 🤦♂️ “Splitters” makes so much more sense.

Why not? I still look up information there too, but I use an adblocker, so it’s not like Spez is profiting from me.

12·3 years agoOpenStreetMap is a joy to behold and fun to edit too, but for me where it really falls behind is its route planner :/ Google Maps lets us plan with public transport, shows multiple route options with journey times, and lets us edit walking paths by just dragging the line. OSM desktop doesn’t seem to have any of these features.
check out the other posts in the right sidebar, there are so many great ones :D
btw the source of this is a fucking brilliant webcomic/blog thing: http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/

I’m not an engineer, but if they are that light, wouldn’t they be strongly affected by the wind?
Also they would still be crash hazard, so probably would be banned above human settlements and infrastructure, which doesn’t leave a lot of places where they can traverse and take off / land.
A few years ago Adam Something made a video about flying cars - it was in the context of the currently available technology, but imho some of his concerns would still be valid.
