Now there you go! Bibles can be big enough to hide a small mortar and perfect insurance the no maga-ass would touch for fear of burning at the touch.

No, you ain’t going to disassemble that revolver to make it smaller. That frame and barrel ain’t coming apart without a proper barrel wrench and heavy vise or cutting torch…
So you either need a small revolver or a much bigger book.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Taxation will not work, we need to just take and devide their money
14·1 year agoIsn’t that what taxation pretty much does? Takes money and redistributes it?
Much like the Scots ruining Scotland, liberals seem to delight in ruining liberalism. As time passes, I see liberals more worried about some other liberal’s little slot in life. And less and less concerned with getting things done. The Big Picture is eschewed in favor of fighting over minutia.
We get what we are asking for.

2·2 years agoWhen I spent a few years teaching in the local school, one thing I taught was a class on Design and 3D printing. The VERY first thing I always had to teach was “how to use a mouse” before I could even begin to start teaching CAD modeling.
I swear, smart phones and touch screens are a curse and pox on humanity.
Gotta wait for the blue light special though.
You for got to mention the free and heavily discounted prices to get Mac computers into schools to get kids hooked on them. Which is something they still do to this I think.
Or perhaps try ungoogled chrome if you enjoy Chrome.
I’m running Fedora 40 Atomic Budgie on a little micro desktop for fun right now. IMO, it’s not quite ready for prime time just yet. I do appreciate the simple ability to roll back at boot if something does go wrong. I’ve done it once after an update and it was nice. The next day a new update was pushed to fix the error in the update and on I went on my merry way.
On the other hand, there is a general sluggishness and a feeling of malaise to the system as time goes on. It’s not a show stopper. But it does not spark joy either. Budgie ran a whole lot faster and smoother as a “standard” install. And I’m not installing a lot of extra software and they are all installed as Flatpaks or I have 3 pieces installed as appImages. So it’s all just updates.
The real test will come when Fedora shifts from 40 to 41 and I upgrade the distro. Will it be as “immutable” as they brag about.
Ahhh, I remember my days of wearing the sackcloth and ashes of Slack. I would go back to that purity. But I’m now old and far too lazy.

Lefty Memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•The Bigger The Theft, The Lighter The Sentence?English
51·2 years agoIt wasn’t the amount - It was the “who” that the homeless person robbed. He didn’t steal from a local liquor store or 7/11. He robbed from a bank. And bank robbery, since the time there have been banks to rob from, has always carried certain heavy punishments. And the punishments are well known to even a homeless person. And very often the judge gets no choice or leeway in the sentencing.
First, What’s a vacation?
Second, I don’t post anything on line now as it is.
Nope. But I never have the radio on anyway because I can’t stand the noise. Instead, I would be planning on just how I was going to kill each bad guy in the most torturous ways.
Why not both? Besides, you can’t make home made baked beans or a good stew or bake bread, cakes or pies in a plain high carbon steel pot.
If you push me to it. I will be happy with just my plain high carbon steel wok and cast iron dutch oven.
I have yet to see any kind of powered abrasive that WON"T get to the bare metal in a right quick manor. It’s kind of what the stuff is made for…
Wet/dry sandpaper is fast and will easily get you down to the fresh bare metal again. Then you simply re-season and start cooking that delicious bacon in it again. A rainy Saturday afternoon will easily get it done.
Then you simply wash with dish soap and hot water before you use it. This ain’t rocket surgery.
That’s the cool part- no matter what happens to your cast iron pans, it can be fixed. You scratch or chip a non-stick coating and the pan is pretty much ruined.
I never like the glue line though.
