I’m late to reply but thank you for the response, this is the kind of response and examples I was looking for.
No, I mean by upholding Private Property Rights
What does this mean though? Like if someone breaks into my house then they shouldn’t be coming over to investigate?
enforcing racist and anti-poor laws they uphold the brutal status quo
Is this not an issue with the laws of the country rather than the police? I feel like it would be an even bigger issue if the police just became a law unto themselves and decided on their own what they should laws they should or shouldn’t enforce.
Police serve the wealthy, rather than the people
Are there common every day examples where this happens? I’ll be honest my exposure to the police is extremely limited and from a UK perspective. Do you mean like the police will prioritise responding faster to wealthy people and are more likely to put resources in solving crimes against them than your average person?
Serious question: What’s the leftists position on police in the ideal but realistic socialist world? What would make ACAB irrelevant?

32·2 years agoThey do though? They provide a place to live that you can move into way faster than you can if you were buying it. They cover the maintenance costs, and some even provide properties that are fully furnished.
I agree that they hoard properties for financial gain but they do provide something.
If you’re a landlord then surely you have the power not to do this with your property or properties?
I went from an MS+Teams org to a Google+Slack org. The latter is way better, Teams is a steaming pile of wank.
I also wonder what happens as new generations start to become prominent, they might not have the same ideals as their parents and either move away or change the dynamics of the group.

1·2 years agoThe only hope is that Labour are enacting a strategy of just getting elected first. Once they’re in they can start moving to the left a bit more.
I always have a custom background on even though my room is tidy. It’s just that our bed is directly behind me and I don’t particularly feel like showing everyone our bed, even though really it’s harmless. It’s just a privacy thing, not something to hide mess.

53·2 years agoYou said everybody without a context of a country, which implies everyone around the world, not everyone in the USA. It’s okay though, I’ll forgive your stupidity in forgetting there’s people outside the US.
Fortunately for me I am from one of those countries. It’s not like they’ve got guns either. Even if we did, what would people do? Start randomly shooting at people who we think are fascists?

Should the keys not be on the fob with the key to operate the vehicle?
Yup. My day starts at like 10pm because it’s spent taking care of everyone else’s needs first.
