Memes@lemmy.ml•In Germany we say "Arbeitnehmerrechte" and I think that's beautiful

Memes@lemmy.ml•Honey, are you okay? You've barely touched your breakfast flour...
43·3 years agoWhy? The fat used is sausage drippings. I can’t see how that doesn’t count is a gravy, even if you’re being very pedantic about it (which you are).
Honestly why? I’ve actually been seeing too much generic boring meme content on here and if anything I want to see less of it.
What a weird post to get upset and offended over

Memes@lemmy.ml•Lemmy might, MIGHT have a small bias towards the left
582·3 years agoI agree! Let me know when you find an uncorrupt government or uncorrupt corporation.
I’m not sure what you mean exactly but I think you might be missing the point. Google is using chromium’s ubiquity to exert control over how the internet works. Chromium being so ubiquitous makes it so web servers can lock out other web browsers.
If you want the entire internet to work like an adobe product, where one company has absolute control over it, then yeah your analogy works. But the whole point is people don’t want that.
Okay. But google controls chromium, and everything that goes in it. And they’re using that control to change how the internet works. So just saying that “chromium is a problem” can be considered a useful shorthand so you don’t have to explain that every time.
Yes but it was changed quite a bit, it supported way more standards and was getting way more updates to keep it up to date. The issue is that was expensive and also people complained that it some websites didn’t work on it, so it made more economical sense to switch it to chromium. I really wish they had kept it though.
In this thread lots of uninformed people rationalizing why it’s actually okay to use chromium.
It would be a monumental effort for smaller browsers to keep chromium extensions working, while the rest of the ecosystem moves to the new APIs. The only way that could work is if they all fork chromium and base their browsers on this new fork, and even then it’s not guaranteed to develop a real ecosystem of plugins since chrome has more users than all of those other chromium browsers combined.
So yeah you have to use Firefox if you want to avoid that, at least for now.
That’s fine but the point of the post is that you have to use a non chromium browser to avoid wei. Once it’s implemented it’s likely that edge and others will have to implement it too.
Also I see plenty of racist memes here on Lemmy.
Couldn’t agree more. And even thought I hardly play games anymore, that actually makes them all the more special when I’m excited about a game and play it. It’s rare nowadays, but games like celeste or a short hike were really wonderful. Other than gems that really speak to you though, you really should find another hobby.
What’s really sad is that no one cares about Ashurbanipal’s destruction of Elam anymore
Using volume is imprecise no matter what units you’re using. Not a big deal for cooking, but for baking, you definitely should use a scale.
I know you’re joking, but I would so love if Filipinos or some other countries would switch from facebook to mastodon/lemmy. It would make this place so lively.
That’s the beauty of lemmy and other open protocols, you can experience it however you like. If you prefer the stock web experience, it’s there, if you prefer an alternative web experience, it’s there, if you prefer an app, there are several to choose from. If you don’t like any of that, you can even spend some time and make your own crazy thing.
Are you shitposting, I can’t tell
