10·2 months agoSpent a whole day looking for people sharing personal info, and warning them.
You really did god’s work there
I messaged him, he wanted to trade (never understood this type of people)
Me neither. I guess they revel in being the “sole proprietor” of hard to find data and think they’re like shiny rocks or something

“If you’re unhappy, just work for a different company!!”
The problems arise when people start to take more than they give. (…) or someone who can contribute chooses not to and still receives the benefits.
Not a problem exclusive to socialism. Capitalism has plenty of very obvious such examples. Amazon is clearly taking in a lot more money than it is giving its workers or the govt. Bezos and others of his ilk can contribute more to taxes, but don’t, they evade them all thanks to legal loopholes and still receive govt benefits.
That’s obviously not true because 99.99% (I’m being dramatic) of owners work an equal or greater number of hours per week than the rest of the employees.
Maybe true for smaller companies. I doubt Musk, Bezos, Sundar Pichai, Zuckerberg or similars even work 40h a week. MAYBE they did, many years ago. Nowadays? Doubtful.
And there’s also the fact that while needing to know how every aspect of the company operates the owner is the one who takes the biggest risks and has the most at stake so it makes sense that they make more than the new hire who has no work experience.
Do you really think that a single person’s work can be worth more than 1000x the work of someone else? To put some perspective: someone who earns 20 million a year is the equivalent of having a hourly salary of ~10,500. What kind of miraculous, one-of-a-kind work is worth that? Bezos doesn’t know how “every aspect of the company operates”, nor do any CEO of any megacorp. Or, to give a better example, no general or field marshal knows “every aspect” of the platoons and soldiers under his command, they rely almost entirely on his subordinates’ reports, which may embellish or hide details.
technically all costs of the company can and are taken out of the owners paycheck because the lower profit the company makes the lower the owners paycheck can be
Except when it’s taken out of the workers’ paycheck who get fired to ensure those above don’t lose their bonuses

2·4 months agoSearch whatever you’re looking for with yandex.com - they don’t block pirate sites. Be sure to have uBlock Origin on your browser, you WILL need it. Direct Download (ddl) sites can often have 3+ redirects before the actual, real download link, so it’s good to save favorites when it’s only 1
For shows, animes and movies, you’re better off finding streaming sites, which you can find above.
Lastly, telegram. Yes, the app. You can find several channels/groups that share stuff. I follow a couple that share IT/Gaming/Animation related courses. You can find series, animes and other stuff, too.

3·4 months agoThis. I live in Brazil, I torrent often and have never received any letter from my ISP or anyone. Close to 20 years now surfing the p2p waves.
How’s the internet access in the country right now? Only people with starlink get to connect at all?

7·4 months agoThe bottleneck isn’t acquiring plastic. The bottleneck is everything else.
This is spot on. I’ve had resin printers for ~6 years now, I’m quite skilled at adding supports to models (and despise pre-supported ones). I bought the first one fully intending to print RPG minis and maybe also make my own 40k army. Printed a lot of minis, printed some on commission, sold some, including 40k, but never made an army, “my” army, I get stuck at choosing a force/faction and then making the composition. The ready made combat patrols just feel “meh”
Most importantly, I only know one 40k group and they play ~30km away from where I live. I already do that kind of trip every single day for work, so that was a huge dampener to me.

11·4 months agoSame reason people prefer the original thing over cheap copies, even the perfect replicas. This is valid for pretty much everything: art, clothing, videogame cartridges, plastic toys, boardgames.

But is he doing that as a kind of joke to show how awful AI is for that task, while being an actually decent product designer/manager himself? I hope it’s the latter, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he drank the kool-AId
