Also, it probably weighs over 3500 kg, so you’ll need a C license to drive it. Fun fact, if you have one of those, you can also drive a huge lorry. Why would you choose an eyesore like that, when you could be a badass rock hauler.
Who reads this anyway? Nobody, that’s who. I could write just about anything here, and it wouldn’t make a difference. As a matter of fact, I’m kinda curious to find out how much text can you dump in here. If you’re like really verbose, you could go on and on about any pointless…[no more than this]

Made up proverb: if you’re starving to death, even dogs become food.
If you’re wondering if this is more work than writing the actual essay, we don’t talk about that here.
My rule of thumb when Excel is still just fine:
- The data fits on the screen. Roughly 40x30 matrices are fine. These rules aren’t set in stone, so there are situations when it’s still justified to use matrices larger than that.
- You can see all the sheets you need. Roughly 10-14 sheets. If you need more sheets than that, you should probably split the calculation into several files.
- You need complicated VBA macros and you need them to run perfectly every time. In my experience, this programming language is infuriatingly unpredictable and unreliable. Random things happen all the time and no amount of debugging is able to solve these types of cosmic problems.
You can go beyond those general guidelines, but using everything gets more and more annoying the further you go. Pretty soon you’ll realize it would have been better to build the whole thing in Python, R or something else. Once the file size hits 15 MB you know you’ve gone way too far and it’s about time you rebuilt the whole calculation using some nicer tool. I try to switch as soon as possible when I realize my calculations are about to grow beyond these limits.
That’s pretty cool. Took a quick look at the relationships those languages have, and it seems that Malay is the odd one out, all the others are in the sinitic family. I would expect that if you learn one, your mind isn’t going to explode if you try to learn the other two. However, Malay is completely different, so jumping into that world may require some extra effort.
To give a European example, if you already know Norwegian, learning Swedish it’s only one step away. Jumping into Danish or German at that point can be done, but it will require some extra effort. A similar situation exists between Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
How well do you speak those languages? For example, can you order pizza with pineapple and olives in any of those languages? What if the pizza you get is cold, there’s only one olive on it and the crust is soggy, could you get your complaints through in any language?
Or perhaps will the explanation be more like: “Pizza bad, no good. Want money back.”
If reading is too hard, how about listening Lindybeige recite it to you.
I’m waiting for the day when planck length (1.6 * 10^-35 m) has its own prefix.

1·3 years agoIn Texas they’ve solved the problem by simply deciding that bigger is better and more is more. The rest of the world is still struggling with this conundrum, so the debate is far from over.

41·3 years agoThe notion that more is better than less has been a dominant paradigm in various fields of inquiry, from economics to psychology. However, this paradigm has been challenged by recent philosophical developments that question the validity and applicability of this assumption. I have examined the arguments for and against the traditional paradigm of more versus less, and explored some of the exceptional cases that defy this binary opposition. In order to reconcile these conflicting perspectives and provide a more nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between larger and smaller quantities, further research is still required.

Nah, it was definitely meant to mean the Ion Probe Analysis, a technique that uses a focused beam of hydrogen ions to to probe the surface of a material to measure its elemental composition and isotopic ratios.
Wow, wasn’t expecting to find that info in a meme community. It’s finally happened, my Lemmy migration is complete.
Looks like a pretty good invention. Imagine you have guests coming over, and you need to make lots of sandwiches. Cutting egg slices from an egg cake like this sounds reasonably convenient to me.

Image generating AIs are exceptionally good at pulling mutated horrors from the depths of Hell. I wonder what’s the equivalent job of an LLM such as GPT4. Writing business books?
