  • PCBs are basically designed using graphic editors. The editors all have their own standards and don’t really import pure text pass the netlist. Simply importing from one to the other is quite painful.

It’s basically trying to build a really really complicated SVG and llms struggle with simple svgs. And that’s only the Gerber, there’s also the whole schematic that needs to be done first from which the Gerber is built from.

PCB design tools are basically made to make our lives easier and avoid mistakes, but it makes it incredibly difficult for any kind of LLM, even before we hit all the intricacies involved in it.

Both of those were built and aren’t on a border of a country but fully inside one. Not that I agree how the Panama canal is handled or was built, mind you.

A better comparison would be the gilbraltar straight, which obviously no one owns.

To be clear, I would be doing the same if I was Iran but it is worrisome. Furthermore, Trump deserves what’s happening but not because of some hypocrisy linked to the St. Lawrence specifically.

The energy is right but the comparison isn’t imo, that’s all.

If the dems had catered to voters instead of kneeling in front of a foreign apartheid state and its genocide, Harris would have won.

Politicians can choose what they represent and the platform they put forward. I don’t want to have to vote for genocide so democracy can live again, I want the dems to drop their pro-genocide stance. Blaming voters is the opposite of asking for change.

Since we are in a post election situation, by constantly scape goating voters, you are doing one sided criticism.

Trump helps genocide and he is a bad guy, Biden and Harris help genocide but the voters should have accepted it essentially.

If we refuse to hold the dems accountable for their actions which directly led to Trump winning, they will plot the same course for the next election.

I seriously suggest using the generator on civitai or to just spin up an instance of comfy ui or automatic1111 using something like runpod. This isn’t very good quality tbh.

I get it’s free as much as you want, but there are enough “paying” websites that give free daily gens that it isn’t really worth it. Runpod costs like 30 cents an hour to run with the lower cards. It kind of looks like perchance generates it’s images at a really low resolution from the image.

  • No. That is what data brokers and big AI companies are pushing for but currently it’s considered fair use.

Anything public facing can be used for ml and it’s been like that for quite a while. It might change based on all the ongoing lawsuit but I doubt it will, it would be economic suicide and China doesn’t care if it’s “theft”.

It’s better for us, the consumer in any case, since having to pay for data would kill the open source scene and give openai and the other 3 companies a defecto monopoly.

I’m very critical of American imperialism but I fail to see how the US is using Ukraine to hurt Russia.

The fault always lies with the invader, Russia did this to itself. If I see someone getting stabbed and throw him a knife, implying I’m using him to hurt the other person attacking him is silly. Russia can leave anytime.

I do agree tankie is thrown around far too much, I’ve been called one myself just for talking shit of the military, even though I never mentioned an other country or a political idealogie.

The spread of the word as well as the constant villainization of China seems like prep for red scare 2.0, so we can have the population support bombing villages full of civilians (again).

  • Copyrights and IP laws don’t only come into effect if profit is made. Fan products are usually tolerated by companies because it’s free advertising and fans get angry when it does get taken down.

When a fan product starts making money, it’s usually because it directly competes with the original IP and then they act. Even then, Etsy has thousands of shops with copyrighted content but the small profit loss doesnt justify the loss of reputation for the companies.

That being said, it’s the user who uploads it who is at fault and not the tool used to create it.

Ultimately, I think it’s the platforms that let users upload copyrighted content and celebrity likenesses that should be at fault. Take for example the Taylor Swift debacle. An image generator was used to create the images sure but twitter chose to let it float on their website for a whole day even though it was most likely reported in the first 5 minutes.

There’s also the fact that if we start demanding AI doesn’t use copyrighted content, it kills the open source scene and cements Google and Microsoft’s grip on our economy as we move towards an AI driven society.
