I have a good friend that is a cardiologist in the air force. Joined the military when he got into med school to cover his tuition and the get guaranteed residency. He’s never been deployed over seas, never been in a war area, and never designed a process or item that has led to an indirect killing. An exception could be if he saved someone that went back to kill someone, but that would be true for all doctors military or not, so that’s not a valid comparison.

There are many military jobs that are simple office jobs like accounting. Not everyone of them is linked to battle.

If you think these more mundane jobs indirectly lead to military related casualties, you better start hating on your local grocery store, because odds are they have given supplies to a soldier that eventually indirectly killed someone. Or probably any public service a soldier could use, because indirectly, that may help the soldier kill someone.

  • Some default to those positions because we live in a misogynistic society that promotes that thought. Everyone of my closest friends and last couple of bosses are male and the primary chefs I. Their households. My wife usually takes out the trash, recently set mouse traps, cleared one, but I usually do the hair job. Not because I’m a man, but because hair is gross and my wife doesn’t deal well with slimy drain hair. This idea of “pink job” and “blue jobs” (my label not yours) is antiquated and bad.

  • I got my dx racer king on a black Friday deal for a couple hundred dollars off. It had the wider bottom so I can sit on my leg in the least ergonomic way possible and has a lumbar cushion I can move where I want. I’ve had it for probably 5 years now and it looks brand new having carried my ass for thousands of hours. My only complaint is the arm rests are not comfortable being done hard rubber with no padding. Full price, there are certainly better options, but it has been without a doubt a great chair and I expect another 5+ years out of it. They aren’t bad chairs, they just aren’t for everyone. I tend to enjoy the flairs in the sides around my shoulders and the aesthetics don’t matter to me, so if someone else doesn’t like it, I suppose that’s on them. I’m not looking to impress anyone with the style of my chair.
