I eat so much meat that my life expectancy went negative and rolled over to the maximum allowed value of 2,147,483,647 years.

20·2 years agoThat’s the spirit. All conflict in the world can be resolved by the crushing and inescapable weight of adult responsibilities.
Check out this video that discusses the difficulties in balancing difficulty (ha) for games with configurable levels of difficulty.
I thought the joke here was that even when they’re not locked your average inkjet printer is a hot pile of garbage machinery that works only when the planets align and you’ve sacrificed 3 goats and a your firstborn.
Meanwhile laster jet printers work most of the time except when they don’t.
Edit: one time I wanted to buy more ink for my inkjet and there was a brand new inkjet printer that came with ink that was less expensive than a new cartridge. (Of the same size)
The new printer was $30 and worked just as poorly as my $150 inkjet.
I’ve done printer maintenance for years among other things and inkjets are literally designed and manufactured in the deepest layer of hell.
If it makes you feel better I feel the same, I was primarily a pc and networking hardware guy before my current role, which I won’t say but it’s closer to hardware than programming.
Same here. I count the days until it’s discovered that I’m just a normie who agrees with the ideology of open source, and am hanged for my crimes of not knowing what a “cron” is, thinking stdout has to do with diseases, or wanting to play video games with 0 troubleshooting haha.
I use usenet for media only. Are there still communities active via usenet?
It’s not the majority of interactions but it was common enough in high school and college that it became a VERY decisive topic. It seemed the Apple users who didn’t bully anyone were unaware it was happening, and the android users, whether or not they were bullied, were always mad about the bullying, which, from the perspective of average iPhone users, made it feel like android users were constantly nagging them, which just widened the cultural gap between the two groups.
So if someone who had an iphone learned you used android, there’s an equal chance you’d get someone who was a bully for no reason or someone who assumed you were combative about it and either way looked down on you for it. It was an unfortunate situation.
I’ve seen people get legitimately bullied for it. Just because you haven’t seen it doesn’t mean it’s a minority among all demographics.
Yeah there are even several ways to do it if you use root.

Memes@lemmy.ml•I am really confused about the current stock meme trend....
5·3 years agoTo add to that, a lot of it was emulating and poking fun at stock market trading, in this case the meme formats being a stock, and creating memes being “investing”. For example, you could have a stereotype of some crazed investor yelling “BUY BUY BUY” as a meme format was becoming popular. It was silly fun and let people discuss meme trends in a novel way.
