Unfortunately you’re right. Maybe I’m deluding myself but I like to believe that higher education strives to be at least somewhat well rounded. I don’t know what the programs are like everywhere but in my undergrad as a science major I also had to take courses from various disciplines(English composition, anthropology, philosophy, art, history, etc).
Graduate degrees just prove someone is very knowledgeable about one specific field of study. Nobody said they couldn’t be idiots over anything else.
