So, I stopped playing Minecraft when m$ acquired them. I refused to make a ms account. I had already bought the game twice under Mojang.
So, fuck Microsoft. How are you guys playing Mc with friends? Id like to load up my old (7 ish years) world again and play like the good times before ms ruined it all.

I highly recommend freesmlauncher, it’s a fork of prism launcher that doesn’t make you sign in.
You can then set up a Java server and in server.properties, set “online-mode” to false, that makes it so unverified accounts can join.
The only thing to note is that no skins will be present if you do this. There might be a mod that helps, but idk

it’s definitely not an exact clone, they’re very different. movement, graphics, terrain constraints and the sorts of mods people make differ drastically.
Well…they are different, also you will not find cool mods like: Create, Farmer delight, ars novoue etc etc
I’ve read that there are some 3rd party launchers that will let you bypass the account requirement for solo play. I haven’t dug into it to figure out which one(s) though.

You can allow unverified accounts onto your server if you run java edition. Nobody will have their account skins but who cares. This will allow people to connect and play without purchasing the game. Idk how you get one of these copies though

Just go for open source launchers, Elyprism is a cracked launcher and allow skins using a 3rd party service
PrismLauncher-Cracked lets you play without Ely.by as well, just pick a username and press play
You can do it with prismlauncher and just hit cancel every time it prompts you to enter your Mojang account
